28% of jobs in Switzerland are highly exposed to AI, and this figure hides a clear divide between office jobs and field jobs.
According to a study by the consulting firm Kuble and Employees Switzerland, 28% of jobs in Switzerland are highly exposed to AI. Office jobs are directly targeted, while field jobs are currently spared. Reviewing three million jobs and 86 professions, the analysis shows that the AI revolution does not primarily affect factories, but offices. Employees working in the IT sector, such as software developers, database and security specialists, system administrators, and engineers are among the most exposed to AI, as are those active in administration, graphic design, public relations, journalism, translation, management, as well as law and finance. In contrast, craftsmanship and construction show virtually no exposure, while health, care, and social professions are also less affected.
For candidates and recruiters, nuance matters: initial studies conducted in Switzerland show that in professional groups heavily influenced by AI, the number of job seekers is increasing more than in those not affected, but exposure to AI does not necessarily equate to job losses, as the implementation of AI models can take over or accelerate certain tasks. Specifically: a highly exposed position is not doomed, but its content will change faster than average, and recruiters are already beginning to distinguish profiles that drive AI from those that perform automatable tasks.
