Swiss unemployment, measured according to international standards, is rising faster than in its European neighbors.
The unemployment rate in Switzerland according to the International Labour Organization has increased from 4.7% to 5.1%. A significant increase in a context where US tariffs of 39% on Swiss products, among other factors, weigh on the labor market. For comparison, within the European Union, the unemployment rate also increased in the third quarter compared to the same period of the previous year, but with a much lighter increase, from 5.8% to 5.9%, and similarly for the Eurozone, rising from 6.2% to 6.3%.
