The development of artificial intelligence (AI) will have consequences for 60% of jobs in advanced economies, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva emphasized. She warned that this change could result either in the disappearance of a position or in its improvement.
The report also highlights a risk of widening inequality: AI could accelerate wage inequality, with a particularly negative effect on the middle classes. For employees currently in work, the challenge is to secure their position by developing skills that complement AI rather than compete with it.
