The Swiss employment market continues to grow, but recruiting qualified profiles is becoming an increasingly difficult puzzle.
In the third quarter, Switzerland had 4.956 million jobs, the Federal Statistical Office reported when publishing its employment barometer. In full-time equivalents, employment totaled 3.871 million, up 0.5% year on year. Difficulties in recruiting skilled workers increased slightly again year on year (29.9%, +0.5 percentage points) compared with the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
This paradox of employment growth alongside a persistent shortage strengthens the negotiating power of qualified professionals, particularly in sectors facing shortages.
